Telstra Health will fully acquire Fred IT Group, Australia’s leading provider of IT solutions for the pharmacy sector.

The investment is the evolution of a 10-year joint venture partnership between Australia’s leading provider of digital health solutions for the health and aged care sector, Telstra Health, and Fred IT Group.

The new workflow platform – called MedView Flow – addresses this problem by bringing paper-based and electronic scripts into the one electronic workflow (or queue). It has been developed to ensure that all Australian pharmacies can embrace electronic prescribing whilst continuing to provide efficient and safe care, regardless of whether patients present their script electronically or via paper.

The life-saving role of clinical tools in reducing risk for vulnerable Australians was acknowledged last week with Victoria’s SafeScript real-time prescription monitoring winning a national award for innovation and excellence.

Fred IT Group is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by the Department of Health to lead the new national system for real-time prescription monitoring which is designed to reduce the devastating impact of prescription medicine overdoses.

Fred IT Group has been appointed by the Victorian Department of Human Services to develop a real-time prescription monitoring system, called SafeScript, to help prevent prescription medication misuse and to save lives.
